Problem Note 42051: Error on cube build if the SAS® environment used to create the cube is different than the session used to update the cube
When attempting to update an OLAP cube, you could receive an error like the following:
ERROR: An error occurred when accessing the cube GENMETA file.
ERROR: The physical cube cannot be deleted.
This error could mean that the user has attempted to access a cube with a host vector incompatible with the current SAS session.
Examples of when this error might occur are:
- a UTF-8 (DBCS) cube being accessed with an ASCII (SBCS) SAS session
- a cube being accessed was created on a different operating system
You must be consistent with the SAS environment that is used to create and update OLAP cubes.
